through livermore. bart and muni are on time and vallejo ferry, mechanical problems so you have buses this morning and this afternoon. that is from vallejo to san francisco. the bay bridge toll plaza is looking good. >> breaking news from the postal service. they announced this morning they are stopping mail delivery on saturday saturdaying in august. packages will still be delivered and post office locations are open on the weekend. it will save $2 billion a year. the struggling post office has been looking for ways to cut costs amid growing competition from e-mail and the internet. >> developing news, sonoma county investigators are on the scene of a shocking triple murder. the bodies were discovered yesterday in forestville, 11 miles northwest of santa rosa. cornell bernard joins us live.

>> highway 116 where the bodies of three men are still inside the rural cabin. the sheriff is not saying much about the crime. it has been 20 years since a triple homicide has happened here. we were over the property where deputies say a man found his brother and two others tuesday shot in a back bedroom of the house. all were shot. the killings have stunned neighbors. the crime does not appear to be random. >> trying to understand there was a shooting. i heard that from a friend. beyond that, we do not know. >> there was no struggle and they died of gunshot wounds. >> execution-style shots? >> i will not discuss. >> murder-suicide? >> it is not murder-suicide. >> no victims had any criminal history.

they believe the killer or killers targeted the victims but a motive this morning is not known. the coroner will arrive at the home at day break. >> there is developing news in the investigation into the 1984 disappearance of kevin collins. san francisco police are holding a news conference this afternoon that could center on this man, dan kelly, a "person of interest" in the case who died five years ago. the boy was seen leaving school in the haight-ashbury in february of 1984. he was ten. the suspect lived across the street from the school. at the time the police searched his home but did not find anything. last week, as we first reported police returned with dogs and found small bone fragments in the basement which have been sent to a laboratory for analysis. our reporter will have more on the case in a live report in the

next half hour. >> police are planning a news conference today in fairfield over the investigation of a murder of a 13-year-old girl. they have identified the body of the teen last week. the 13-year-old showed this surveillance video in fairfield on thursday afternoon at corner of grand circle four miles from the park where her naked body was discovered on friday morning. in word of any arrests in the case so far. her cousin is planning a vigil at the park on friday evening. >> we are following developing news from florida where a dramatic rescue unfolded. a bakery delivery truck is dangling over a freeway in fort lauderdale. this is a look at what it looked like earlier, the truck is dangling there and the driver is now out and safe. crews have pulled the truck back from the edge of the road. there was concern it could come crashing on to traffic below.

>> gas prices nation nationwide have jumped 18 percent in a week the biggest type in two years with the average $3.54, and experts blame it on rising oil prices and tension in the middle east. here in california, it is higher, $3.91 a gallon. that is partly because refineries are switching from winter grade to more costly summer grade fuel. >> san francisco usually has the highest gas prices in the state but lock at pump prices in los angeles: yes, a station is actually charged $5 a gallon. >> how do you justify that? >> now, officials in san francisco may now force some homeowners to retrofit their building. a proposal introduced by the board of supervisors president requires reinforcement if so-called soft structures which faces heavy damage in the 1989

are tracking colder conditions. the 5:00 observations are in and you can see mid-to-upper 30's everywhere butant beyond fremont oakland and san francisco and around the monterey bay inland upper 30's to low 40's. it will be brighter today with temperatures close to average. tomorrow and friday the system will bring us cooler weather and showers. not all of us get a lost rain but at least it is something. we need the rain. also, it will bring snow but nothing too heavy. mostly sunny and it looks like the warmer weekend is still on the way of the temperatures today from 55 at half moon bay to 56 in san francisco and richmond and 60 in fairfield and antioch are the warmer conditions and the monterey bay, 56, and everyone else is 59 to 60 degrees. tonight, you can see the rain is moving into the north bay by this time tomorrow and it will

spread south and across the bay so for the morning commute the north bay is the most likely area to get wet weather as we head toward noon to the early afternoon hours it will spread through the heart of bay and through the south bay and out. we will have scattered showers for the rest of thursday and another chance of showers for friday, and low do mid-50's there and .1" to .25" of rain. >> the san mateo bridge from 880 hayward beyond industrial to the flat section just a few brake lights to the high-rise and traffic is busy into foster city but 15 minutes between hayward and san mateo area. bart and muni on time and the vallejo ferry has a bus because of mechanical problems, this morning and this afternoon, as well. 580, highway four, and 80 are looking good. >> thank you very much.

bay area's most baffling missing child cases, after new developments in the kevin collins disappearance, amy is live in san francisco. amy? >> we hope to hear more, expect to hear more about the man who used to live in this home in the haight-ashbury neighborhood. his name was dan kelly and he died five years ago. police have called him their key suspect in the disappearance of kevin collins who was 10 years when he vanished in 1984. there was an intense search for kevin at the time that captured national attention. police never searched the home or the backyard of the suspect. the cold case unit decided to do that and spent the day and the flight gathering potential evidence and they dug up the floor in the garage and found bones under the garage floor. they believe they are animal

bones but they sent them to be tested. today, police have scheduled a press conference to share the latest. >> thank you, 5:32. developing news in sonoma county sheriff deputy are on the scene of a triple homicide with the bodies discovered yesterday in forestville, a small town northwest of santa rosa. this is video from the scene, detectives say the victims were shot to death in the bedroom of a home. it appears the victims were targeted and one of them was associated with a tenant, a man looking for his brother told deputies he discovered the bodies around 3:15 yesterday afternoon. abc7 news reporter cornell bernard will have a live report with more in 30 minutes. >> san francisco police are investigating a shooting in the tenderloin, near mason street at 8:00 last night. police say a 37-year-old man was shot several times in the torso. he was rushed to a hospital and

is expected to survive. no word from bliss on -- from police on any suspects. >> a man accused of killing and kidnapping in the disappearance of a teen. he was arrested last may on charges of murdering a 15-year-old teen low -- although her body has now been found. she vanish on the way to school in march. he could enter charges of attempted kidnapping for attacking three other women in 2009. >> palo alto police are searching for a man would tried to grab an 11-year-old girl riding her bicycle. it happened on emmer son street on monday night. the girl was 10' from the man when he tried to grab her and she screamed. the detectives say he yelled he was going to kidnap her. >> sketch of the suspect is described as white man in his 30's, 6' tall weighing 150

pounds and light colored hair and balding or receding hair and wearing glasses. >> san jose police are asking for 16 percent pay raise over the next three years in the opening contract talks with the city. the san jose mercury news reports the pay increase being propose include restoring the 10 percent pay cuts they have previously accepted to help limit layoffs during record budget deficits. city leaders indicated they would support modest raises but the police officer association argued bigger raises are needed to keep the officers from leaving the department. the union has also called for opening negotiations to the public. >> the boy scouts of america could vote soon on whether to lit a policy that excludes gay members and leaders at the headquarters in texas. the proposal would allow individual troops to decide how to address the issue. a conservative group in texas

here we go, 5:00 tomorrow morning, you can see the wet weather in the north bay, most of the north bay will be wet in the morning. at 9:00, the commute is waning, and the fox extreme weather center is moving through the south bay at lunch and out of the bay by 2:00. that is also when it puts it down in the monterey bay if you are headed that way. in the evening and overnight you have snow and scattered showers and the snow levels drop to around 3,000 feet and friday the best chance of showers is in the morning. .1" to .25" is likely during that timeframe for rain. possibly warmer next week. >> one accident in san jose, again, south 101 at the capital expressway, not in lanes off to the shoulder, so, traffic is getting by okay, elsewhere, we have bart and muni and everyone on time, and we have a bus rather than the vallejo ferry, because of mechanical problems,
